End the Registry was originally intended to be a resource for people who are concerned by sex offense registries. It was built with resource sections as well as blogs that were open to anyone. The forums were imbedded in closed groups. Back when I started blogging, I discovered Twitter (in the Pre-X days) and I found it to be a great place for connecting and building community. When Musk took over, X changed – and people fled. But in that time, several groups formed and many of the legacy groups had new or invigorated leadership. That’s where my focus shifted. But – the mission remains the same. Spread the word. Conviction registries don’t make us safer – yet they cause great harm. They don’t stop cycles of harm — and they don’t provide relief to survivors. Conviction registries need to be abolished.
